Extrema Ratio Contact - Black

Extrema Ratio has developed the first of a new line. The CONTACT.
It has a blade with a spear point profile, flat edge grinding and lozenge geometry.
It features a lower guard branch to protect the hand from accidental cuts, upper jumping to improve the grip, concave-shaped "fuller" lightening along the entire length of the blade and a generous thickness of the blade (in the classic 6.30 mm).

All these characteristics give the Contact model the title of big brother of the now famous Requiem, revisited in proportions and in some technical features. The first of a new line of multi-purpose knives. The blade is produced in Böhler N690 steel with a hardness of 58 HRC and a chemical burnishing coating for the Black version. All the other colors in the line have blades with a Stone Washed finish. The handle is still made of forprene but the assembly no longer takes place by means of the lateral screws but through the truncated cone-shaped stainless steel tang which is screwed onto the bottom and fits inside a special seat, which makes it solid and the knife well balanced.

The sheath is minimalist, it strips off a good part of the fabric by adopting a 2nd level retention system, recalling the style of the model it is inspired by. The main shell is injection-moulded in shockproof nylon. The secondary retention system is reversible for ambidextrous knife portability.

The blade is guided in the insertion of the sheath thanks to a cone shape which lends itself well to the rapid insertion and extraction of the knife. To extract the blade, simply press the trigger, thus disengaging the safety device that holds it safely in the sheath. A system is inserted into the horizontal slots of the rigid shell that cushions the blade to avoid shaking noises when it is placed inside. The rear part of the nylon sheath has been designed to interface with the MOLLE system. The textile part is reduced to a minimum and has the classic two-button safety lace with a belt loop and a thigh band with rubber reinforcement for anti-aging. rotation. Extrema Ratio aims at this new line by minimizing the thickness and size of the knife as much as possible, but not saving on structural resistance and safety accessories.
