Top Max - Lightweight Pro Derlin Piston - MIM Rack

The lightweight PRO piston from TopMax Elaborazioni is made with a compound based on DELRIN, Elastomer and Glass Fibre, melted and industrially molded in specific percentages supplied by TopMax Elaborazioni. The rack of this type of PRO piston is made of metal powders in MIM (Metal Injection Molding), with a value of approximately 98/99% full of the total.

The overall weight of the PRO lightweight piston with MIM rack stands at 14.20g, which makes it one of the lightest lightweight pistons on the market in the world. The structure, both in terms of materials and geometry, make it one of the most resistant in the world to the stresses inside the GearBox. The PRO piston in DELRIN TopMax is compatible with all GearBox V2 and V3 on the market and with all types of similar GearBox. We recommend assembling the PRO lightweight piston on GearBoxes that DO NOT PRESENT the window in correspondence with the piston seat, this is to avoid that during movement with any ROF, exits from the plate guides may occur which can cause breakages and/or damage important to the GearBox itself.

The MIM rack was machined and created with the second tooth missing and the third tooth already lowered with a 30° bevel, in this way a perfect machining and engagement cycle with the sector gear is generated. Metal Injection Molding allows you to obtain components, normally obtained from bar stock, forged and/or printed, with greater and wider geometric flexibility while maintaining the resistance and durability characteristics practically identical to those of the CNC process.

TECH TYP. The rack and the length of the PRO TopMax piston have been designed for perfect coplanarity with the teeth of the sector gears. This design peculiarity can lead, on some GearBoxes, to the piston touching the back of the GearBox shells before reaching the moment of release. For this reason WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND checking that before touching the back of the GearBox shells the piston is free to disengage from the sector gear. If this were not the case, but regardless even in the opposite case, TopMax Elaborazioni RECOMMENDS eliminating at least 1/2 release teeth (depending on the need and the GearBox) on all preparations/configurations in which our PRO piston is used.

The STRESS-TESTS carried out on the PRO lightened piston with MIM rack were carried out with springs and ROF higher than those foreseen and by the Italian legislation on the subject, so the product will guarantee reliability, resistance, durability over time and very high performance even with configurations definitely pushing.
