THE MOST RELIABLE WEATHER PROTECTION EQUIPMENT.
Durable and comfortable weather protection starts with an excellent laminate. The laminate used in the Monsoon XT Gen. 2 Jacket is a triple-layer breathable and waterproof material that reliably keeps out rain and wind while helping to prevent overheating.
LONG-TERM COMFORT.
The air/pac® inserts integrated into the shoulders serve two purposes. Firstly, they provide additional lightweight but effective insulation to prevent the so-called "thermal bridging" effect, which can occur when there is insufficient insulation between the skin and the jacket fabric. This insufficiency can allow outside air cooled by heavy rain and howling wind to be conducted through the jacket to your body. The second purpose of the air/pac® inserts is to distribute the weight of a backpack or plate holder more evenly across the shoulders and upper back. The result is that you feel more comfortable.
IT OPENS TO LET EXCESS HEAT OUT.
Long side zippers can provide ventilation inside the jacket in case you start to feel too hot. Or you can use zippers as a simple, secure way to access gear worn under the jacket (rather than unzipping the entire front and spreading the garment apart, exposing everything underneath it to rain, wind, and cold).
FIELD OF VISION WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS.
The first time you put on the Monsoon XT Gen.2 Tactical Rain Jacket, it adapts its Hood/Harness® system to the size of your head. After that, the hood will perfectly follow your head and neck movements, increasing your ability to enjoy unobstructed vision despite bad weather. There are no straps involved with this system, so air is free to circulate in the space between your head and the hood - this helps you stay comfortably cool while also allowing undamped or undiminished sound to reach your ears.
HIGHLY WATER-REPELLENT POCKETS.
If you're familiar with how we typically configure pockets on our jackets and shirts, you'll be happy to know that we've stayed true to our practices in configuring them for this one, too. The Monsoon Jacket features two upper arm and two lower arm pockets that provide enough space for your essential gear and allow you to keep it constantly within reach.
